High in the Andes of Peru
The hike Ukukus
Glaciers, snow and frost
Dressed in masks and furry Watches
They migrate in search of ice in mountain
Sacred healing powers
The Bear-men, are called:
Inancient language of Quechua;
Guardians of the ice
They cut the ice blocks solid
Back door, down mountain trails,
Family, friends and livestock
Ah! Sixteen thousand feet high, is
A pilgrimage Qoyllur the Chorus' ...
Year after year after year.
The bear-man - watching in silence
Their glaciers disappear slowly
As if in the air! ...
